On 20 November 2025, the 7th ASEAN+3 Rectors’ Conference continued with a series of in-depth thematic discussions organized into three strategic clusters: (1) Sustainable agriculture, aquaculture, and food security; (2) Climate resilience, water resources, and environmental sustainability; and (3) Smart systems, digital tools, and innovation for development.
The cluster discussions clarified the region’s shared challenges while opening new opportunities for long-term cross-border cooperation in research, data sharing, digital transformation, and high-quality human resource development among ASEAN+3 universities. 


During the second working day, delegates proposed numerous practical collaboration initiatives. Many participating institutions highlighted Can Tho University’s strong foundation in science, technology, and innovation, recognizing it as an important pillar for cooperation within the ASEAN+3 network.



The Conference reaffirmed the vision of ASEAN+3 UNet in building a cross-border knowledge ecosystem aimed at sustainable development, food security, climate protection, and the advancement of emerging technologies. The outcomes of the two-day program reflect Can Tho University’s growing stature as a knowledge hub of the Mekong region and the broader ASEAN+3 community, as well as its leadership in connecting knowledge and promoting regional cooperation toward a sustainable future.
