On August 02nd, 2017, Can Tho University (CTU) was honored to receive the visit of Dr. Touch Visalsok, Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport, and delegates from University of Kratie, Cambodia. Welcoming the delegation were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Viet Dung, Vice Rector and leader representatives of CTU’s units.

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector of CTU sent a warm greeting to the delegation, and expressed the joyfulness of the University for the delegation’s visit. Besides providing information about CTU, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ha Thanh Toan shared the good cooperation relationship between CTU and Cambodian partners in recent years.
The two sides affirmed their willingness to cooperate by exploring and identifying common interests to serve the development. Through initial discussion, CTU and University of Kratie will jointly develop collaborative activities for the development of Kratie, a newly established university in Kratie Province, Cambodia earlier this year. Accordingly, CTU will support Kratie in the development of training programs, personnel management, academic affairs, laboratory establishment, enrollment, etc. Exchange activities of staff, students; joint scientific research; and sharing of learning resources were also discussed by both sides.
In the near future, a memorandum of understanding will be singed between the two universities as a foundation for further cooperation activities, which will contribute to the strategic orientation for sustainable development of Kratie, at the same time, bring mutual benefits and development for both sides.
