Within the framework of the international project Bridging Digital Divide in Mongolia and Vietnam through HEI’s Digital Transformation (DIGITAL MOVE), Can Tho University (CTU) has implemented a range of digital transformation activities in teaching and learning, including the development of digital learning materials. A number of online courses have been redesigned and upgraded to enhance learner interaction, support autonomous learning, and broaden access to academic resources, particularly for postgraduate students.

A representative example is the course “Research Methodology in English Studies for Master Students”, delivered through the e-Learning system of Can Tho University. With support from the DIGITAL-MOVE project, the course has been systematically upgraded, with learning content presented in a more engaging manner, enriched digital learning materials, and the deep integration of LMS tools into the teaching and learning process. Each chapter is structured into three main components: Chapter Insights (theoretical foundations), Chapter Check (self-assessment of learning outcomes), and Chapter Takeaways (reflective questions supporting conceptual connection and application), thereby ensuring a close integration between theoretical knowledge and practical research skills.

This organizational approach has supported students in strengthening self-directed learning, critical thinking, and academic research skills, while enabling instructors to monitor learning progress, provide timely feedback, and assess learning outcomes in a more flexible manner. Beyond this course, a number of other modules have been enhanced following a similar approach, with the LMS serving as a central platform for blended learning and contributing to the development of an interactive and sustainable digital learning environment.

To date, the DIGITAL MOVE project has supported the upgrading of a range of online courses at Can Tho University, contributing to the enhancement of instructors’ digital competencies, the expansion of learning access for students, and the strengthening of the university’s role in advancing digital transformation in higher education within the Mekong Delta region.
