Tropical semester is a tailored-made program specifically designed for international students who are keen on study and research of the environment, agriculture, soil, aquaculture, economics, education, culture, language, and livelihoods, etc. of a tropical country like VietNam (especially the South). English is the main language of instruction. Some courses are available in French. Students are free to select any module/ courses that they prefer. The program is available all year round.

Tropical Semester creates and enhances mutual cooperation and relationship between CTU and universities that are located in non-tropical regions, or in regions where the environmental conditions differ from those in the Mekong Delta.

Tropical Semester introduces its learners to different ecological and cultural regions in the Mekong Delta and throughout Vietnam and provides them with information on diverse tropical regions outside of Vietnam.

Tropical Semester is an excellent program for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in exploring and understanding a new country like Vietnam. The credits offered are also transferrable to their home universities. Over the past five years, CTU has received more than 200 students from the U.S., Japan, Finland, Australia, etc, to undertake the program.
