In October and November 2025, Can Tho University conducted a series of significant activities to expand educational cooperation with Canadian partners, contributing to the university’s internationalization strategy and enhancing the quality of its training and research.

From November 2 to 5, 2025, delegation from CTU, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Rector, attended the CBIE 2025 Annual International Education Conference in Quebec, Canada.
At the event, which attracted more than 1,300 delegates from over 50 countries, CTU held meetings with leaders from more than 15 universities to discuss student and credit transfer programs, short-term and long-term internships, research initiatives, scholarship, as well as faculty exchange mechanisms.

As part of the mission, CTU and the University of Waterloo (Canada) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The two parties agreed to strengthen collaboration in training and research in fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor technology, agriculture, aquaculture, and health sciences; and to implement joint training models such as 2+2 and 3+1 programs, student–faculty exchanges, and co-organized scientific activities.

These collaborative activities mark an important milestone in CTU’s internationalization strategy, reaffirming the position as a reputable center for education and research in the Mekong Delta region. They also lay a solid foundation for fostering sustainable cooperation opportunities with Canada, contributing to enhancing the University’s international competitiveness and educational quality in its new phase of development.
