On January 19, 2026, Dr. Le Van Lam – Vice Rector of Can Tho University, together with representatives of relevant units, welcomed and held a working session with a delegation from Chonnam National University, Republic of Korea, led by Dr. Jinhyoung Cho – Dean of External Relations.
In the spirit of cooperation and sustainable development, Can Tho University and Chonnam National University exchanged views on future collaboration orientations in the fields of education, training, and scientific research, based on leveraging each institution’s academic strengths and potential. Both universities expressed their shared interest in expanding student and faculty exchange programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels, with the aim of enhancing international academic experiences, improving training quality, and strengthening learners’ global competencies. 
In addition, the two universities discussed the potential for implementing co-supervision programs for doctoral candidates and sharing academic resources. This direction was considered a practical approach to promoting in-depth research activities and strengthening collaboration among faculty members and researchers from both universities. Through these initiatives, Can Tho University continues to reaffirm its role as a reliable partner within regional and international higher education networks, while gradually realizing its strategy for the internationalization of education and enhancing the quality of training and scientific research in the new development phase.
